My name is very very very rare.. My dad and his brothers chose that name out of an archive of possible names.. that's why only 15 persons in sweden are called Dexe in last name!

maleyndsu | 6 November 2005 - 2:35pm

femaleouti89 | 6 November 2005 - 2:45pm
My last name is Lietzén and it isn't very common in Finland. And the funny thing is that there is also people who´s last name is Lietzen and these two last names are totally different.

My last name isn't weird but I share it with a girl from my village, we've been at school together from primary school to University without being the best friends, I guess we were just "school mates" because we were useful to one another exchanging services but we didn't really like each other, the proof is that we still live at 1 km far from each other but lost touch ! That's really weird !
femalecherrykisses | 6 November 2005 - 7:53pm
I don't think it's weird (Cherry) I love it - but I haven't ever met Anyone with that last name that wasn't related to me in one way or another...

my surname has unique origin, since some local priest in small village where my father was born, changed last name of my ancestor.. he added letter E in front, so it was easier to pronounce, before that the meaning was the name of some flower... so everybody with this surname is my far far relative (it's very rare surname)
...i can find that surname even in usa, one famous movie producer, then one director who i even share my name with, as i found on google
malestewy | 7 November 2005 - 12:01am
stewart is pretty common, so there's lots of people who have it but aren't related to me.

it's not weird, but i do know people who aren't related to me and have the same last name
femalekimmy16 | 7 November 2005 - 9:51am
It's not really weird but not many people have a last name like I have in the Netherlands. I mean Van Olderen is not really that common, although there are some people who have the same name but aren't related.

Yep, my last names are Falkengaard and Itzel. The first isn't that wierd, just a common Danish last name. But the latter, Itzel, is wierd. It's also common in south America (It's a first name for girls there as well.) In incan, aztec and mayan it has various meanings such as unique, strong warrior, and it's also the name of an indian moon goddess. My family has had it since before the 17th century, and it's quite unclear as of how we got it - one teory is that it's from a german exchange student, but who can say? My family has alot of strangeness in it's past.
malechibi | 10 November 2005 - 9:55pm
And oh, I'm not related to Bob and Karen Itzel (Some lousy christian pop-duo.), but they share the surname as well. (http://billandkarenitzel.com) Also, there's a lot of religious figures in the past who has had the name as well, such as Rabbi Itzel, some bishops. Like I said earlier, it's a wierd name that appears in wierd places, hehe.
femalei_love_me | 26 November 2005 - 6:18am
