It probably the greatest and most influential films of all time not just in japan
It really amazin, yes it a bit dated as it came out in the 1950's but it is a move you must see.
The magnificent 7 was an adaption of it, Sholay which is the biggest grossin bollywood film of alltime also was an adaption
Star war have shown influence's, even kids move bugs life is based on the 7 samurai concept.

Actually, most japanese horror movies sucks big time but those which are good are usually freakin good, like The Grudge, Dark Water..

ooh! This is difficult! I like the Zatoichi the last fim - but I think the best I have seen is Battle Royale!! That film is excellent - a close second though is Kashern. I could watch Japanese films all day they are brilliant!

and the movie "GO!" is a fantastic film.
